Chamonix Ski Transfers
One of Chamonix’s best features is its easy accessibility from nearby Geneva airport. It is possible to get to Chamonix from one of the other local French airports – Chambery, Lyon or Grenoble – and private transfers will accommodate this request for an associated price. However, unless you absolutely have to fly to somewhere else, Geneva airport is always going to provide the quickest, easiest and cheapest travel to Chamonix.
Unlike other French ski resorts where we can recommend a range of travel options from several airports – when flying to Chamonix ski resort you really want to be heading via Geneva airport.
At only 85km, or approximately an hours drive from Geneva, Chamonix regularly tops lists of ‘the best ski resorts with quick transfer times‘. Geneva airport has one of the largest low-cost airline timetables in Europe, and with cheap flights and short transfers this travel route is one taken by thousands of skiers and snowboarders each and every winter.
There are numerous companies offering private transfers between Geneva airport and Chamonix – taking advantage of the quick journey time and the year-round popularity of the resort. Most companies will operate 8 seat minibuses and it may be slightly more difficult to find private transfers for large groups. The short journey time also means that transfer buses can make several return trips in a day, and there are some very cheap shared transfers running on almost every day of the week.
